So you want to get ripped? Have you ever wanted something most people don't have? Perhaps a fast and expensive sports car, a mansion on a sprawling estate, or a supermodel girlfriend? Some people are born into money and are able to easily obtain these things, just like some are born with genetics for beauty or for a very lean physique. Chances are that if you are reading this you are an average guy with a little too much fat around...everywhere. Ordinary people that want and desire the extraordinary have to work hard to achieve it. Nowhere is this more true than in the pursuit of the perfect body. It's time for you to learn the truth behind how to get a six-pack.

Food and Nutrition

See that thing up there? ^^^

Ignore it.  If you are not naturally lean, eating 6-11 servings of pasta or bread a day is only going to make you more spherical.  You might be able to lose weight eating that many servings of grain if you get rid of you car and start running everywhere you go from now on.  I advocate a high-fat, high-protein, low-carb diet for fat loss.  Whether or not you decide to permanently stick with it is up to you, but once I started it after about 3 months I didn't even want to look at foods that were packed with sugar and carbohydrates.  The pounds melted off me and I was never hungry, ever.  Heck, I wasn't even at the point where I was working out yet and after 3 months I lost 60 pounds.

Some of you might disagree with me.  That's ok.  I have tried (like most fat or formerly-fat people) to lose weight numerous times with different methods. I have successfully lost weight on a low-fat, high-carb, calorie-restricted diet.  My progress was similar (about 60 pounds in 3 months) but I was starving the entire time, belly rumbling with hunger when I would lay in bed to go to sleep at night.  I worked out everyday with bodyweight exercises and cardio. When I finally reached my weight loss goal, I still looked like a smaller version of my still-fat self.  My body had eaten my muscles up.  I had not cheated a single day for 3 months and I still was embarrassed to take my shirt off.

Of course, everyone's body is different to some extent.  Some of us have increased insulin resistance and some don't.  What works for one person may not work at all for another.  The only way to find out for sure is to make yourself into a human experiment.  Lots of experts say, "Listen to your body."  Chances are it was probably telling you, nay, screaming at you, "STOP STUFFING YOURSELF FULL OF SUGAR, NITWIT!"  But you forgot how to speak the language of your body.  Do yourself a favor.  Stop eating bread, pasta, rice, sugar, corn, and potatoes and products made with more than a very small amount of them for a month.  If you haven't lost some fat in a month come back here and yell at me all you want.  I still won't believe you, but I'm sure its good exercise.

Exercise

Will you have to exercise to get ripped? Maybe you will, maybe you won't. Most people will find exercise necessary to build muscles and the attractive physique they are looking for. A large number of people can get down to a low bodyfat % with diet alone, but will probably look weak and small. Again, everyone is different and everyone has different goals they wish to achieve. If you care more about endurance than strength you will most likely gain more from a program that concentrates on distance biking, running, swimming, etc. All types of athletes can appreciate the gains they can get from incorporating strength training and cardio of all types into their workout regimen. There are many ways to use exercise in your mission to get ripped, but how you want to look and what you want to be capable of are what decides the best workout routine to get your there! Learn step-by-step how to perfect your diet and exercise routine for YOUR body type by learning the simple steps you need to take to get ripped and get that six-pack you've always wanted.
